National Housing Conference 2025

Together, they will describe the partnership between TFA, Jamukurnu Yapilukurnu Aboriginal Corporation (JYAC) and Martu communities of the Western Desert to address persistent inequalities in Indigenous housing outcomes. This collaboration has yielded remarkable results by placing Indigenous decision-making at the centre of housing development.

Conference attendees will learn practical solutions for embedding local decision-making in housing development, illustrated through successful outcomes in closing the gap between Indigenous and non-Indigenous housing standards. This presentation will share the Guide and specific strategies that have enhanced health outcomes and created sustainable employment opportunities through genuine community agency.
