We held the role of State Adviser: Architecture for Western Australia’s new museum from 2014 until its opening in 2020. This $395.9 million project, at the time one of the most significant museum redevelopments in the world, now displays the State collection in new and innovative ways.
We worked with First Nations consultancy, Karrda, to ensure the site’s cultural significance was embedded in the design of this new masterplanned community.

Basketball courts encourage connection, promote health and wellbeing, and provide safe spaces for a range of activities, including meetings and performances. We put together an open-source advisory note, outlining the pros and cons of the various approaches to developing basketball courts in communities.
Over many years, TFA worked with the various communities on Groote, including Elders, women and young people, to design new spaces for cultural practice, sport and music practice.
TFA and community co-designed a comprehensive masterplan, encompassing all seven communities across the Archipelago. This is a strategic, long-term planning document that considers the impact of population growth on housing and community-wide infrastructure.

A new precinct for a school that provides specialist education to disadvantaged and at-risk students on the periphery of Fremantle.
A strategy for a re-imagined Arts Centre, located close to the highway, with separate women and men’s spaces, a public gallery and amenities to suit the anticipated growth in visitation and use.
TFA managed the installation of 10 temporary accommodation units across 6 communities in the East Pilbara. These units assisted communities in responding to COVID-19, providing safe isolation accommodation on Country.
TFA worked as part of a design collaboration to deliver a refreshed public face for the University.
